Montclair Jazz Festival

Wow, what a day. DJ’ing at the Montclair Jazz Festival and closing out the evening was an experience I won’t forget. What was supposed to be a two‑hour headlining DJ set got crunched down—other bands ran long, and with a 10 PM curfew, everything had to be wrapped up. My set ended up being 40 minutes, and they extended the curfew to 10:30 PM just to make it happen.

It was an intense day overall. We were also activating our coconut brand, Kool King, and we had the VIP section sponsored by our champagne, Le Kool. The event started at 12 PM and went straight through to 10 PM. My phone was ringing nonstop, I was walking the plaza putting out fires, and at the same time trying to stay locked in on the most important thing to me—my DJ set in front of 20,000 people.

And it was amazing. I’m already looking forward to doing it again next year. I still got some great tunes in and had the crowd rocking.

Thank you to Christian and Melissa McBride—your support means everything. Truly humbled and full of gratitude. Love you, guys.
